Circular silencers
The MCA-MCPA range of silencers are used in aeraulic systems to reduce the noise generated by fans and carried along by the airflow. These silencers are supplied with a length of casing in one diameter (MC_1D) or two diameters (MC_2D) and the diameters available range from 300 - 1800mm. The MCPA range has a rounded nose-cone (flat head MCTA variant also available). They are built as standard from galvanised sheet steel that encloses mineral fibre panels coated with a glass veil, inflammable with reaction to fire class A1; the inside of the silencer is made from micro-stretched perforated sheet metal. The flanges have threaded inserts for attaching ducts or fans to the flanges. On request, bespoke versions can be made in aluminium and stainless steel and with protective polyester (FOREX-MELINEX) membrane, specifically for use in the pharmaceutical, food and hospital industries.

Further information on Acoustics [+]

MCA and MCPA circular silencers have extremely high noise abatement properties, low pressure drops and are very robust. They are designed for installation in circular ducts in air-conditioning and ventilation systems or directly onto axial fans.
These silencers are supplied with a length of casing in one diameter (MC_1D) or two diameters (MC_2D) and the diameters available range from 300 – 1800mm.
The MCPA range has a rounded nose-cone, (flat head MCTA variant also available). The silencer models with a nose-cone have a greater noise abatement capacity in comparison to models
without. The standard version is made from galvanised sheet steel; the sound-absorbing material is a special mineral fibre protected by a perforated plate. They have threaded inserts on the heads for attaching to the duct flanges.
On request, bespoke versions can be made in aluminium and stainless steel and with protective polyester (FOREX-MELINEX) membrane, specifically for use in the pharmaceutical, food and hospital industries.

APPLICATION
MCA-MCPA silencers are used for installation in circular ducts in civil and industrial air-conditioning and ventilation systems; they can also be installed onto the helical fans in condensation air-conditioning units. The MCTA model with a flat-headed nose-cone is used for evaporating towers.

FASTENING
They are most commonly installed in ventilation ducts, with horizontal or vertical airflows. The position of the silencer must be carefully evaluated to ensure no noise is returned into the duct
downstream of the silencer itself. They are attached using the threaded inserts on the two ends, in line with the duct flanges.

  • Assembly is simple by lining up the threaded inserts on the two ends with the duct flanges;
  • Non-combustible mineral fibre panels, protected by a reinforced glass coating; all classified as Euroclass A1 pursuant to UNI EN 13501-1;
  • Bespoke versions for different applications such as: AIR TIGHT (airtight model), HOSP (contaminationcontrolled environments);
  • Bespoke sizes and configurations, custom design.
