AFO AL1 and AL2 soundproof grilles are used to dampen noise emitted by air-conditioning and cooling systems, whilst still allowing air to pass through so the equipment continues to work properly. They can be installed as full soundproof walls on the roof or floor of a building, or they can be wall-mounted depending on the location of the units on that floor, instead of traditional grilles.
AFO AL 1 grilles are comprised of box-type fins, with semi-aerodynamic profiles, mounted on the appropriate supporting frame; the upper surface of the fin is made of solid galvanised sheet steel, whereas the underneath is made from perforated galvanised sheet steel and the inside is filled with the soundabsorbing material. They are 300mm thick.
The AFO AL 2 grilles, with a higher noise attenuation capacity, are made by mounting two standard grilles back-to-back. They are 600mm thick.
AFO AL 1 and AL 2 grilles can be used to blend in with any stylistic requirements, in straight lines or corner configurations, and come in a wide range of colours and finishes. As well as galvanised steel, on request they can also be manufactured in painted steel or aluminium.
Soundproofing grilles can be used as shielding partitions around cooling towers, refrigerator units and air condensers. They can be wall-mounted in technical areas at outdoor air intake points or stale air exhaust points in air-conditioning and ventilation systems. They are also ideal for ventilating generator units and in covered or underground car parks.
AFO grilles are primarily installed in one of two ways: to create shielding partitions or for installation on purpose-built apertures on building frontages. To make partition walls, the grilles can be supplied without flanges and with all the necessary accessories.
For aperture installation, they are usually assembled with flanges and a sub-frame. Several accessories and options are available: hinged soundproof grilles, soundproof blind doors, protection grids, support structures, etc.
